Still talking about Core Values (Yep, they are that important!)

My most recent blog entry was about finding your company’s core values.  It was the best piece ever written, you’ll love it! (That was my Donald Trump impression.)

Seriously, it was OK and you’ll learn how to discover the values that are already innately in your company and then how to bring them to life. (If you missed it, read it HERE.)

Now the question is: "How do make sure your team, and especially new recruits, know how to interpret your core values?"

Let me explain: One of the core values we value at our company is “We Aim to Wow!”

Now, that could literally mean that a new team member flashes a guest when they get off the elevator.  So that would certainly be a “WOW!” experience… (But that is NOT the kind of WOW experience we want at our company.)

So we set out to define how to properly live our core values. We made it clear that when living “We Aim to WOW!” that flashing, mooning or any kind of exposing does not fit our definition.

We defined WOW! as leaving a customer breathless during an interaction because of such incredible service. We literally want our customer to feel so special and blow away, that they say “WOW!”

We want our team to “Do Whatever it Takes” (another one of our core values) to make customers feeling Wow-ed!

It has served us well and has made the definition of living our core values very clear.

Need help finding your core values and then defining them? I can help! Find a free download worksheet HERE.

I can also help you with the hard work of keeping them alive in your organization.  Interested?  Email me at David@Mammano.com.

Challenge yourself to have an amazing April

For me, the month of March was overwhelming to say the least.

I had huge milestones for my business, I helped a local charity reach their fundraising goals, and I learned a lot about limitations.

Did you get any ideas for what you can do to make April one of your best months ever?

Share your ideas with me in the comments section, or send me an email at David@NextStepU.com. I'd love to hear about your progress!

The spirit of Valentine's Day should be celebrated each day — and that love expanded to all of our connections and not just our significant others.

Here are some moments in my life where I felt that love beyond the holiday.

Where are the moments in your life where you can share that love with others?

Confuse yourself in order to grow

Did you know that your muscles need confusion in order to grow? It's true — if you do the same thing every day, over time, your body will not see a change. You'll plateau.

Watch this quick video about how I'm changing things up in order to grow:

So, did you get any great ideas? What do you think you'll confuse in order to grow? I would love to hear your ideas. Leave a comment or share with me on social media.

This bad habit is worse than smoking pot at work

There is one thing you may be doing at work that is worse than if you work smoking pot on the job. It's hard to believe, but it's true.

And you'll never guess what this distraction is…

So... did you guess the distraction? Give it some thought before you take your next phone call.

Next steps for NextStepU

On December 13th, Next Step Education Group hosted a breakfast for those local to the Rochester area interested in learning more about evolution in our business. It was a successful event and and a wonderful chance to catch our friends up with the news we've been bursting to share.

Curious about what we have up our sleeves? Hate being left out of the loop?

Yeah, we hate that too. So... we recorded the event and now you can sit back and watch it for yourself!

Turn those negatives into positives

Have you ever let a negative person ruin your day?  Of course you have — we all have!

It just happened to me. But, instead of stewing about it, I decided to “get back” at the person by turning it into something positive.

Invest the next two minutes to see how I did it…

What are your resolutions for 2014?

Is it too early to think about resolutions for 2014?  I was challenged to start thinking already.

Most people say lose weight, exercise more, more time with family…and by February 1st, they are back to their normal habits.

So, I challenged myself to do something SO easy, yet SO powerful, that I fully believe it will create my best year ever.  And it’s only going to take ONE Minute a day!

Check out this video for ideas on how you can also have the one-minute-a-day resolution!

Five "F" words that I live my life by

Plus a bonus sixth "F" word, just for you…

Welcome to my new blog, “The Next Step Guy!”  I used to blog quite often, built up a pretty good following and loved it.  Then, life took over and I lost my blog mojo.

Well, I’m back.

I’ve missed the creativity of writing.  Plus. It’s just darn therapeutic for me.

My first new entry is about the F words I use to guide my life.  And, if you watch this video right now, I actually throw in a sixth "F" word….

Enjoy and please share your thoughts at  David@NextStepU.com
